A new Channel 4 documentary series is set to transform an average family house into a home of the future.

This particular award - listed as "The outstanding innovation of the year in controls and lamps" is a highly contested award, requiring products to be evaluated by a panel of industry experts before being selected. Other finalists include the Philips MasterLED.
1. Ban on 60W incandescent luminaires
From Thursday 1 September the manufacturing and importing of 60W incandescent luminaires has been given an EU-wide ban

Two energy saving products from PhotonStar have been nominated for the prestigious CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2011. SmartNemesis and EcoStar are two of the six finalists for the Energy Using Product section. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on 9th February. Both products have previously won a number of awards for sustainability and innovation.

Energy Management & Innovation in Lighting
Kings College London, in collaboration with EcovertFM have recently opened their new reception and cafeteria area at the Guy's Hospital site. PhotonStar installed a fully LED lit solution operated with PhotonStar's new innovative LEDsmart controls. The ultra efficient LED project offered an 80% energy saving through source efficacy and its dedicated LED control system.
Newly launched LUX Magazine selected 14 of the market leading LED replacements for halogen downlights, and tested them independently at 42 Partners in Cambridge. Our Laser Lite with XPG engine was voted "Best Halogen Replacement" and awarded four stars.
This week sees the final of the prestigious Coutts Growing Business Awards in London.
Leading architectural practice PRP will be showcasing three "before" and "after" refurbishments of common UK house structures with mock ups constructed at the BEST show in Birmingham in October. A key part of these schemes will be affordable and reliable energy efficient lighting, in all cases provided by PhotonStar.

The first annual Lighting Industry Awards, co-ordinated by the Lighting Association were presented at a gala dinner on 14th July. Industry peers from government, energy companies and universities examined the entries to decide the final winners.
Amongst high profile finalists were global names such as Osram and Havells Sylvannia, however the biggest winner was the UK based LED luminaire manufacturer PhotonStar LED Ltd. who were finalists in almost all sections, and were the only company to win more than one award.
